History of Saint Valentine's Day
Saint Valentine's Day, a holiday honoring lovers, is celebrated February 14. Greeting cards, known as valentines, are often designed with hearts to symbolize love. The festival gradually became associated with the feast day (February 14) of two Roman martyrs, both named Saint Valentine, who lived in the 3rd century.
The St. Valentine Day menu has two versions; the first one is for meat eaters and the second is for vegetarians.
This menu will serve 4 persons. If you want to serve only 2 persons you can freeze the leftovers for a later use. This menu is very elegant and your mate will be impressed by your cooking abilities.
Decoration tips:
Decorate your tables with golden candleholders and red candles (do not use scented candles for the tables their scent will interfere with the food). You can use a white tablecloth and red napkins. Place a nice low vase with fresh cut roses (white and red) in the center of the table. Use white china plates and golden silverware for a spectacular effect. Red, white and gold is a beautiful match for an elegant table setting. Use wine goblets or flutes.
